Officer killed in hit-and-run near Okalona

LOUISVILLE, KY – An arrest has been made in the hit-and-run accident that caused the death of a Shelbyville Police officer on Tuesday morning.

According to WLKY, the accident occurred close to 3 a.m. on the Outer Loop near Briarcliff Road in the Okolona area when 28-year-old Ashley Catlett struck the motorcycle of Office Thomas Elmore and fled the scene.

Responders declared Elmore dead at the scene.

Catlett initially fled from the accident on foot.

She now faces multiple additional charges including driving without a license or insurance.
