Narrative
LEXINGTON, KY – Three people died Monday afternoon in a fiery two-vehicle crash in north-central Lexington.
The accident happened shortly after 12 p.m. on New Circle Road between Georgetown Street and Newton Pike. This is north of Bluegrass Community and Technical College and south of Oakwood Estates.
Police say that a U-Haul truck and a construction van collided head-on. The impact of the crash caused the van to ignite.
Authorities declared all three people involved in the wreck deceased at the scene. Their names have not yet been released to the public.
Officials closed the roadway in the are of the crash while crews worked to clear the scene.
