Narrative
LIBERTY, KY – Three people died, and one person went to the hospital Sunday after a two-vehicle collision at an intersection in central Casey County.
The incident happened at the intersection of U.S. 127 and KY 70 in the southside of Liberty.
Police say that the driver of an eastbound Jeep Liberty ran a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a Chevy Equinox carrying three people.
Two driver of the Equinox, 56-year-old Teresa Burton, and a passenger, 67-year-old James Burton, died from injuries sustained in the accident. A 21-year-old passenger went to the hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the Jeep Liberty also died in the crash. Authorities identified him as 85-year-old Otis Tapscott.
