Narrative
LOUISVILLE, KY – A fiery crash involving an 18-wheeler along the interstate in Louisville killed one person Saturday.
The accident happened in the afternoon on I-65 near the John F. Kennedy Memorial Bridge, which is on the northeast side of the city.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a semi crashed into a guardrail on the interstate. The impact caused the truck to ignite, and one person died from injuries sustained in the collision. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name to the public.
Wet roadways may have been a contributing factor to the accident.
Officials closed the interstate in the area of the crash while crews worked to clear the scene.
