Narrative
LONDON, KY – A 48-year-old woman died earlier this month in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident along the highway in central Laurel County.
The accident happened around 5 p.m. on Monday, July 1st, along US-25 in the city of London. This is about 76 miles southeast of Lexington.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a 54-year-old motorcyclist lost control of his bike along the highway and crashed. Both the operator and his passenger were thrown from the bike.
Medics transported both riders to the hospital, where the the passenger died. Authorities identified her as Sherry Schenk.
The operator, identified as Randy Schenk, went to the hospital via air ambulance for treatment of serious injuries.
