Narrative
HARDIN CO., KY – A 50-year-old man died Wednesday night after a head-on crash involving a semi along the Kentucky Turnpike in Hardin County.
The incident occurred around 10:59 p.m. on I-65 near Elizabethtown. Officials have not yet provided a mile marker or cross street.
Police say that a northbound 2016 Lexus entered the southbound lanes and collided head-on with an 18-wheeler.
The wrong-way driver, identified as Jeffery Simonton, died at the scene after being thrown from his vehicle.
Medics transported the truck driver to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
