Narrative
MAYFIELD, KY – A gray horse was running from an auction barn, came onto a road, and was struck by a driver, claiming the horse’s life and sending the motorist to a hospital.
This crash happened before 7 p.m. Saturday on U.S. 45, adjacent to Hunt Road. The driver of the 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer — 34-year-old Joshua Grismer of Mayfield — tried to avoid hitting the horse but was unable to do so, leading them to collide.
Upon arrival, Mayfield and Graves County emergency responders took Grismer to Lourdes/Mercy Health Hospital in Paducah for treatment.
