Narrative
BOWLING GREEN, KY – A 32-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman, who were identified as a son and mother, passed away after they were hit by a pickup truck Friday.
This collision happened around midnight at the Scottsville Road and Ken Bale Boulevard junction.
Bowling Green Police told WNKY that the 48-year-old woman — Christina Mead — was operating a motorized scooter, and the 32-year-old man — Christopher Mead — was crossing when they did not have the right of way.
When the 17-year-old driver operating a pickup truck approached the green light, the motorist, who drove 15 mph, tried to stop but ended up hitting the Meads. The teenager cooperated with investigators and will face no charges.
Upon arrival, the Meads were sent to The Med Center at Bowling Green, where they died.
Other information showed that another son of Christina ran ahead of her and was unharmed. It was confirmed that Christina did not chase him.
