Narrative
WOODBURN, KY – A 30-year-old woman lost her life when the passenger vehicle she drove collided with a dump truck at a Woodburn intersection Thursday. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office told WNKY the collision happened when the 30-year-old woman tried to cross Nashville Road amid on-coming traffic. The motorist’s attempt was unsuccessful, and she crashed into the garbage truck. The driver of the dump truck tried to press on the brake but could not stop in time, which led to the collision. The vehicle operator, who was identified as Samantha Perkins, a Franklin resident, was trapped or pinned and had to be extricated. After Perkins was freed, she was transported to the Medical Center at Bowling Green. There, she later succumbed to fatal wounds. The truck driver was unharmed.
