Narrative
Kevin Wright, 57, passed away on March 28th when he drove his truck into a barrier on the Bluegrass Parkway and died in the resulting fire. It was around 2:51a.m. when the westbound 2006 Freightliner struck the structure near mile marker 12. This happened in a construction area. After hitting the barrier, the same truck then veered across the road in an attempt to correct itself but went to far and caught on fire after hitting a guardrail. The cause of the crash remains unknown. Wright passed away at the scene. Lanes in both directions were closed off for a few hours as the following departments responded to the scene: the KSP Post 4, Nelson Co. EMS, Nelson Co. Sheriff’s Office, and the Nelson Co. Coroner’s Office. The investigation on this crash remains open.
