OAK GROVE, KY- Man rear-ended a vehicle on I-24, which led to the hospitalization of two women on Sunday, KSP News, Post 02 reports.
Israel Sanchez, a 40 year-old from Tennessee, was driving a Dodge Caravan westbound on the interstate. Toneisha Williams, a 25 year-old from Kentucky, was going in the same direction when Sanchez hit the back of her Kia.
Both Sanchez and Williams went off the road as a result of the collision.
The Kentucky State Police responded to the call once Williams called them for assistance. She had been able to get back on the road and exit properly before calling the police. Williams had another person in the car at the time of the incident, 27 year-old Tomika Quarles, and both women went to Jennie Stuart Hospital after the accident. The extent of their injuries was not stated.
The driver of the Caravan was not found with his vehicle when the KSP arrived. Police had to search for Sanchez before they found and arrested him.
Police reported that Sanchez was charged for three different items. He was charged for drinking and driving, for leaving the scene, and for not having a license. It was also stated by police that Sanchez was driving at high speeds at the time of impact.
