Man killed in crash with deputy in pursuit in Calloway County

CALLOWAY COUNTY, KY – A man being pursued by police was killed after he crashed his vehicle in Calloway County on Monday night, WKDZ reports.

56-year-old Phillip Croom was driving at a high rate of speed when a Calloway County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to pull the vehicle over on Kentucky 80.

According to the deputy, the driver lost control of the vehicle after bypassing a stop sign at Brinn Road. The vehicle then ran off the road and into a tree.

Paramedics responded to a call for medical aid for Croom, who was later pronounced to have died at the scene.
